Paediatric dietetics - nutrition for children 0-19
A service is a team of registered dietitians specialised in paediatric nutrition who provide specialist children’s dietetic services
We support children and young people aged 0–19 with nutrition-related concerns where dietary assessment and intervention are clinically indicated. Our service provides assessment, nutritional advice, and management of a wide range of nutrition concerns. Please note that service provision varies across boroughs; further details are outlined below.
Please note: This service does not provide emergency care. If there are urgent clinical concerns, families should seek advice from their GP, NHS 111, or attend A&E as appropriate.

- Home enteral feeding: gastrostomy or nasogastric tube in situ

- Home Enteral Tube Feeding
- Management of food allergies and intolerances
- Treating diagnosed nutrient deficiencies
- Faddy or fussy eating
- Complex obesity and weight related issues
- Faltering growth
- GI conditions (constipation, diarrhoea)
- Coeliac disease (suspected or confirmed)
- Appropriate prescribing

- Fluid restriction or poor fluid intake

Children can be referred by a GP, paediatrician, nurse, health visitor, social services, or other healthcare professionals.
