World Patient Safety Day - Message from our Deputy Chief Nurse

Published: 17th September 2021

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust Deputy Chief Nurse, Billy Hatifani, has issued a message on the importance of the day and outlines some of the steps taken to ensure that patient safety remains at the heart of the services provided by CLCH to the communities we serve.

You can read Billy's message below.

"Today marks World Patient Safety Day, which is celebrated globally every year on September 17 to help raise awareness and enhance the global understanding of patient safety.

"The theme of this year’s event is 'Safe Maternal and Newborn Care' and all this week, we have been celebrating the work of our teams across CLCH in how they contribute to this through the work that they do every day in protecting newborn children and parents.

"At CLCH over the last 12 months in particular, we have focused on the way that we deliver a sustainable model of health visiting to patients, consistent across all nine boroughs where CLCH delivers this service to patients, through the Reimagining Health Visiting programme.

"Some of the aims of the programme include to deliver a high-quality service to patients in the communities that we serve, protect children and their families and use technology to deliver a service fit for the 21st century and beyond.

"More information on the day can be found on the World Health Organisation website."
