Northolt and Greenford Early Start Team raises funds for The Trussell Trust
The Northolt and Greenford Early Start Team at CLCH have been raising funds and collecting food items this festive period to donate to the local foodbank in Ealing.
The team decided to support The Trussell Trust – an organisation that support foodbanks by providing emergency food and support – as part of their commitment in providing support to the communities we serve. Several food items were donated by staff and a total of £70 was raised for Trussell Trust.
In addition, the team held their annual end of year lunch to celebrate staff achievements and thanked team members for their hard work and dedication to the families they support.
A special mention was given to Natasha Mullins (left), Early Start Worker and Urmila Singh (right), Community Staff Nurse who both received awards from their team, for their compassion, care and courage.
Natasha provided support to a person by intervening in an incident which allowed them to get to safety.
Urmila saw a distressed person on a train platform and stopped to ask them how they were. After a short while, the person disclosed suicidal plans. Urmila was able to remain with them until emergency services came. Urmila said that her trip to the station that day was a detour and feels that she was put in the right place at the right time to save this person’s life.
Paulina Phillips, Team Lead for Northolt and Greenford Early Start Team, said: “We have a great team who really do their best for their community and for each other, despite any challenges we may come across. I truly appreciate them and am grateful to lead such a hardworking compassionate team."
Well done team!
