Nicole is a star at Hospital awards
Podiatrist wins ‘Patient Choice Award’ at Chelsea & Westminster Annual Star Awards

One of our senior managers, who also works one session a week in clinical practice, scooped an award at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital's recent Star Awards event held at Chelsea Football Club.
Nicole Rich, who has worked as podiatrist for 18 years and has an MSc in diabetes, was presented with the award by pop star Sophie Ellis Bextor (both pictured) said:
"My clinical session each week enables me to retain my clinical skills and I enjoy having direct patient contact, working as part of the multidisciplinary diabetes team. I have worked as part of the diabetes team at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital for 16 years and this has supported closer working between the community and acute teams for the benefit of patients to access the specialist diabetic foot clinic.
"It gives me a great insight into what is required on the frontline of NHS services and how I can improve services in my role as a senior manager at CLCH".
Some of the patients who nominated Nicole for her award were also quoted at the Star Awards event.
Patient 1 said:
"Nicole has worked tirelessly to ensure that not only my foot was saved but allowing me to have a normal life as possible. I couldn't ask for anyone better to manage my care. Even if she doesn't win this award, she's won my life-long admiration."
Patient 2 said:
"Her kindness and consideration has made such a positive difference. When someone is as kind as that, repeatedly, it should be both applauded and rewarded!".
