Mental Health Awareness Week - Message from the Trust Chair

Published: 10th May 2021

Central London Community Healthcare Trust's Chair Angela Greatley has issued a message about the importance of looking after our mental health and the health of those closest to us at the start of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Mental Health Awareness Week is the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health. The week, which runs from Monday 10 May 2021 to Sunday 16 May 2021, is run by the Mental Health Foundation and is now in its 21st year. It serves as an opportunity to increase the awareness of the effects of poor mental health and how important it is to look after our mental health, and the health of others. A mental health problem will affect one in four people in the UK in 2021.

In her message, Angela focused how important it is in this year more than ever, that we check on our own mental health, and that of those closest to us. This year's national campaign theme is nature, and Angela encouraged all to take the time to make contact with the natural world as being able to have a connection to nature and the natural world can have a positive impact on mental health.
