Welcome to Learning Disability Week 2024! This year's theme, "Do you see me?", emphasises the importance of being seen, heard, and valued. From Monday, June 17 to Sunday, June 23. Sexual Health South West London (SHSWL) Sexual Health Clinic at 160 Falcon Road are proud to advocate for people with learning disabilities, ensuring they receive the quality sexual health services.

Sexual Health: A Fundamental Human Right

Access to sexual health services and education is a fundamental human right. However, individuals with learning disabilities often face significant barriers in accessing these services. Stigma, misinformation, and a lack of tailored resources can make it challenging for them to receive the care they need.

Understanding the Barriers

Many people with learning disabilities encounter stigma and misconceptions about their sexual health needs. These barriers can lead to feelings of isolation and misunderstanding. It's crucial to recognise and address these challenges, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be seen and heard.

Our Commitment to Accessible Services

SHSWL Sexual Health Clinic are dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive sexual health services. The clinic can offer longer appointment times to ensure that each patient receives the attention and care they need. Trained staff are equipped to understand and address the unique challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities.

Tailored Services for Unique Needs

We recognise that each person's needs are unique, and our approach is designed to reflect this. Our team is committed to creating a supportive and understanding environment where patients feel comfortable and respected. We provide tailored services that cater to the specific needs of individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring they receive the best possible care.

Advocacy and Education

We believe in the power of education and advocacy. By raising awareness and providing accurate information, we can break down the barriers that people with learning disabilities face in accessing sexual health services. We are committed to ongoing training and development to ensure our staff are well-equipped to support our patients effectively.
