Hani Girgis, a director leading on technology projects at Deloitte, has joined CLCH for a one year development assignment as the first Associate Non-Executive member of the board.
Hani has a wealth of experience in programme management, planning, design, implementation and delivery of large scale transformation programmes in both public and private sectors.
CLCH is piloting this new approach to appointing Non-Executive board members with Deloitte, as the company is equally commited to promoting diversity at senior levels and can engage suitably qualified candidates with the skills needed to carry out the role.
As an Associate, Hani will fully contribute to board discussions, bringing the benefit of his perspective and experience, as well as gaining an insight into the role of a Non-Executive Director in the NHS.
CLCH's Chairman Pam Chesters said: "The Associate role is testament to our commitment to tackle the significant under-representation of individuals from BME backgrounds on our board. It is a great strength to CLCH that our staff are broadly representative of the rich cultural diversity in our communities and we would like our board to reflect this diversity."
Hani was appointed following a competitive process through which he demonstrated his commitment to providing excellent healthcare for patients and the range of attributes CLCH expect of any Non-Executive Board Director.
