First phase of installation of electric vehicle chargers

Published: 15th June 2022

As part of our commitment to supporting the promotion of green travel and encouraging staff to switch to electric vehicles (EV), CLCH have commissioned installation of electric vehicle chargers from a company called EB Charging Ltd.

In the first phase of the project, electric vehicle charging points will be installed at selected sites which are owned or fully managed by the Trust. This will complement public or at-home charging solutions.

The EB GO app will give users access to the network and allow them to pay for their vehicles to charge via the app.

We will be installing further vehicle charging points across our sites in the future to support our business fleet. Installation works will be underway during June and July, and the charging points will be tested and go live in July and August.

To widen the network of chargers, discussions are in progress with landlords at rented sites (Tier 2 sites) on chargers’ installation plans in the future.

In addition to the electric vehicle charging points, the Trust's vehicle lease and staff salary sacrifice schemes are now restricted to 100% electric beginning 1st April 2022 to further enhance the Trust’s environmental commitment.

Tom Wright (Action Director of Sustainability) said: "The installation of four electric vehicle charging stations is excellent for employees, patients and visitors and it will help us promote and enable sustainable travel options now and in the future".
