Dr Joanne Medhurst to leave CLCH after 10 years for new ICB role
After 10 years of working at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Dr Joanne Medhurst will be leaving the Trust to take up the new role of Chief Medical Officer of the Integrated Care Board (ICB) for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG).
Joanne joined CLCH as Medical Director in 2012 and later took on additional roles serving as the Trust’s Deputy Chief Executive, Director of Infection Prevention and Control and the Responsible Officer.
Joanne said: “The decision to leave CLCH is not easy. Many of you know however that I am quite partial to change, and with that this new appointment provides me with the opportunity to tackle a new challenge and a new chapter in my career.
“I cannot describe how much I have enjoyed working at CLCH; working with colleagues to manage serious incidents and outbreaks, working with the Trust’s fabulous multidisciplinary teams to agree a new clinical strategy, and working across our four Integrated Care Systems with partners from General Practice and local hospitals.”
Interim Chief Executive James Benson said: “I am so proud that Joanne has been recognised as a medical officer to lead an Integrated Care System. However, the Trust will be very said to see her leave. During her time here Joanne has helped to embed a culture of quality improvement and innovation; something she has long been a strong advocate for in the community sector.
“In more recent times, she has led the Trust’s response to COVID. I would like to extend my personal thanks to her for her leadership and support over the last decade.”
The process to search for Joanne’s successor is underway.
