Disability History Month 2024: Celebrating journeys of strength
As part of this year’s Disability History Month, watch an inspiring video showcasing the personal journeys of four CLCH colleagues who have embraced their disabilities and thrived in their roles.
In the video, each participant shares their experiences of navigating the challenges of living with a disability and the role the Trust has played in supporting them. From making reasonable adjustments to creating a culture of inclusion, CLCH continues to take significant steps to ensure that all staff feel valued and empowered.
Creating a supportive workplace
The staff members highlight the positive impact of the Trust’s initiatives, which have helped make their working lives more comfortable and productive. These adjustments have enabled them to excel and contribute meaningfully to the Trust.
Leadership through Calibre
Two of the featured staff members also discuss the personal impact of the Calibre Leadership Disability Programme. This initiative, aimed at developing leadership skills in individuals with disabilities, has not only built their confidence but also provided them with tools to lead effectively. They credit the program with helping them grow both professionally and personally, demonstrating the Trust’s commitment to nurturing talent across all levels of the organisation.
A celebration of diversity and inclusion
This video serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of recognising and celebrating the diverse experiences of staff with disabilities. By sharing these stories, we hope to encourage open conversations, challenge stigmas, and inspire others to advocate for inclusion in their own workplaces.
As we continue celebrating Disability History Month, this video stands as a testament to the strength and resilience of individuals with disabilities and the effort to build a more inclusive future.
