Congratulations Meenaxi on 40 years of NHS service
Wednesday (4 January) marked 40 years of service in the NHS for Meenaxi Shah, Team Lead - Occupational Therapist.
After leaving Kenya, Meenaxi joined the NHS in 1983. At the time, the most promising career development was within the NHS. Since then, Meenaxi has progressed from a band 6 to 8A and on taking retirement in 2017 returned to work part time as a band 7.
When asked about her role she said “I have always been passionate about patient care. Working with vulnerable adults in the community, I feel have so much to offer.”
Meenaxi has had many accomplishments throughout her career. While working at Northwick Park Hospital she was running a successful falls service with a consultant for 18 years. This then led to Meenaxi getting the recognition to submit a business plan that resulted in a service being enhanced by the CCG with additional resources and staffing in 2009.
Other instances include, getting recognition from the Royal College of Occupational Therapists for the successful presentation of a home visiting programme at the national conference in Edinburgh.
Congratulations to Meenaxi on this amazing achievement and service to the NHS!
