CLCH has won ‘Organisation of the Year’ at this years’ HSJ Patient Safety Congress for its quality strategy ‘Simply the Best – Every time.'

The awards recognise and reward outstanding practice in patient safety by  NHS staff and organisations.

The judges felt that there was a clear strategy  at CLCH to improve patient safety across a diverse organisation. Staff were clearly involved and enabled to make improvements in a framework of Shared Governance which the judges felt others in health and social could learn from.

Garnering over 500 entries - this year saw fierce competition for these coveted awards, with only 180 making the shortlist. From those, 20 deserving winners were decided by an expert panel of judges, with an additional 13 projects also receiving high commendation in their respective categories.

Louise Ashley, Chief Nurse & Chief Operating Officer at CLCH said "I would like to say a big thank you to all our staff who have worked so hard  to make our quality strategy  and the system of shared governance such a success. This is a huge achievement for the Trust.

An awards ceremony took place at the Manchester Central Convention Centre on July 9 where the winners were announced.
