CLCH launches its Green Plan

Published: 8th October 2020

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) today launches its Green Plan 2020-23, to coincide with National Clean Air Day.

As NHS staff, we often witness first-hand the devastating impact air pollution, rising temperatures and other extreme weather events brought about by climate change have on the public. Air pollution alone is believed to contribute to around 36,000 deaths every year as a result of associated conditions.

CLCH is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and our Green Plan sets out how we will support the ‘For a greener NHS’ programme and the new Net Zero NHS plan.

The CLCH Green Plan includes key pledges for reducing our impact on the environment in areas such as waste, travel and energy usage. We will be working with staff to implement and monitor these pledges over the coming months.

Elizabeth Hale, Director of Improvement said:

“We look forward to working with all our staff, patients, suppliers and partners to deliver the CLCH Green Plan and making our contribution to long term environmental sustainability.”

The CLCH Green Plan is available to download from the corporate publications section on our website.
