CLCH to deliver school nursing services in Hounslow
Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) has been appointed to deliver school nursing services, including immunisation services, in Hounslow for children and young people aged between five and 19. The provision of both nursing and immunisation will enable the Trust to offer children and their families a more seamless service.
In delivering these services CLCH aims to improve the health, well-being and safety of patients by working with both children and their families to offer a range of services including parenting advice, advocacy and public health promotion.
Shelley Heffernan, Clinical Directorate for Quality and Leadership at CLCH said: "Young people growing up in London face significant challenges and through providing the best possible care, our school nurses can make a real difference to their health and wellbeing. We're extremely proud to be providing our school nursing services in Hounslow, expanding CLCH's work further in this area.
Cllr Ed Mayne, Hounslow Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Leisure, explained: "Keeping local children fit and well is, without question, one of the council's highest priorities, so we've been through an extensive process to select the best possible team to deliver the school health services. I'm pleased to welcome the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust to Hounslow and I look forward to working with them to make sure that our young people are given the healthiest possible start in life."
CLCH will take responsibility for the delivery of these services on 1 October.
