Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust becomes the first NHS community trust to join the North West London Clinical Trials Alliance.

We are also delighted to announce that new partners are joining, these are Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust and West London NHS Trust, and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, giving the Alliance full coverage across the North West London Integrated Care System (ICS).

The North West London Clinical Trials Alliance supports the high quality clinical research taking place at the heart of the NHS and social care services, leading to improved treatments and patient care for all, through collaborative working.

It aims to increase regional capacity for delivering commercial clinical research, as well as to improve the ease and speed of research delivery, patient access to clinical research and patient opportunities for early access to cutting edge treatment and therapies that are not yet widely available through the NHS.

Simon Lewis (pictured), Head of Research and Development at CLCH, said: “The alliance presents a unique and innovative opportunity for cross-organisational working to enhance research capacity across the sector. We look forward to working with new alliance partners to enable our populations greater access to clinical research."

Recently appointed Director of the Alliance, Dr Suki Balendra, is looking forward to the opportunities the new partnerships will bring. She said: "It is my pleasure to announce the expansion of the Alliance to include a further three local NHS Trusts.

"We now cover the entire region as served by the North West London ICS. This means we will be able to increase collaboration across the region and create more opportunities for patients and the public to get involved in innovative research locally.”
