Request

I am seeking information regarding ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) referrals and rejections within your NHS trust for the period between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2024. 

Specifically, I would like to request the following information: 

1. The total number of patients who were referred for an ADHD assessment within this timeframe, broken down year by year.
    
2. The total number of patients whose referrals for ADHD assessment were rejected within this timeframe, broken down year by year. 
    
3. A breakdown of the data requested in points 1 and 2 above by:
   1. Gender (male, female, other) 
   2. Ethnicity (please provide the breakdown according to the ethnic categories used by the NHS, such as White, Black, Asian, Mixed, Other)

If possible, I would appreciate it if the data came in a table format for clarity.

ADHD pathway referrals to CLCH that are accepted, are seen by the Consultant Paediatricians of Imperial College NHS Trust staff and appointment made on Cerner. Full information on ADHD referrals may be obtained by way of request to Imperial.  Information held on CLCH systems is only partial and relate mainly to cases from 2021 and 2022; not all ADHD referrals are recorded on CLCH clinical systems as mentioned above.

The figures for 2023-2024 was recorded off-system and does not include details of gender or ethnicity as confirmed by the Childrens disability team.

We don’t hold details of ‘rejected’ referrals.

Patient data which is 5 or under is withheld by virtue of Section 40 – Personal Information (See Below).

 

Under section 40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, a public authority does not have to provide information where that information is considered personal information under the Data Protection Act 2018. We believe that, because of the low number of patients involved and the potential for them to be identified when combined with other available information, the information you have requested falls into this category, and therefore will not be supplying this as a result. The actual figure has been replaced with <5.
