Request

Pursuant to s1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act”), I am writing to make a request for the below outlined information.

I am looking to find out as much detail and information as possible on the health of the prison population. I was advised to contact healthcare providers after submitting the same FOI to the Ministry of Justice, HM Prisons and Probations Service, and local and district councils across England and Wales.

Cross referencing has identified that Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust provides healthcare in HMP Wormwood Scrubs.

Specifically, my requests are as follows:

  1. By year, how much money has been spent on assistive devices in Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust, for inmates aged 50 or above, beginning with the year 2018 and ending with 2023? Please break down the data by prison and calendar year (i.e. 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), and then by cost and by treatment/device/syndrome where possible.

Examples may include but are not limited to: wheelchairs; mobility scooters; walkers; stair assists; hearing aids; shoe horns; automatic pill dispensers; fall alarms; canes; prosthetic devices designed to replace a missing body part; visual aids like glasses; incontinence products like adult pads, pull-up pants, and catheters; dental prostheses like false teeth; inhalers; orthotic devices that prevent the worsening of arthritic diseases; etc.

In accordance with s11(1) of the Act, I would like this information presented to me via an Excel document, sent to me via email please.
