However old your child is they need your help to stay safe. Every child is different and as their parents and carers you’ll need to tailor advice to meet their individual needs. Thinking about safety away from as well as at home becomes particularly important as they become more independent it’s helpful to think ahead and plan for how best to keep them safe.
Here are some helpful resources to help you think about how you can make your home and the environment your child is part of safe for them. If you have any questions about safety please speak to your school nurse who can answer questions and help you to access advice and support.

The summer is a wonderful time to enjoy being outside with you child. Children have very delicate skin which burns easily and they are also affected by the heat. Keeping your child cool and protecting their skin is really important as soon as the weather starts getting hot.
