Residents in Westminster are being reminded that many GP surgeries now offer seven day access as winter pressures continue to affect A&Es across the country.
The following surgeries in the area are open on Saturdays and Sundays:

- The Third Floor Lanark Medical Centre (10am - 6pm)
- 165 Lanark Road, London W9 1NZ, nearest tube: Maida Vale
- The North West London Medical Centre (8am - 4pm)
- 56 Maida Vale, London, W9 1PP, nearest tube: Maida Vale
Patients do not need to be registered with these practices to use this service.
There are also a number of Urgent Care Centres (UCCs) in the area which can treat residents who require care immediately for illnesses or injuries that aren't life-threatening. A&E is for people with major, life-threatening illnesses and injuries. The Urgent Care Centres at St Mary's Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital are open 24 hours a day, including weekends and public holidays.
Residents can also call NHS 111, 24 hours a day, seven days a week for advice and details of local health services.
Dr Ruth O'Hare, chair of Central London CCG, said: "As we have seen, A&Es find themselves under increased pressure during the winter months. We know that many patients attend A&E when their illness is not life-threatening.
"We have increased access to GPs for people in Westminster so that they can be treated in primary care on Saturdays and Sundays. We would encourage all residents to use NHS services wisely and choose the correct care for their need to help relieve pressure on A&E services. "
