Supporting our community: NHS marks the 8th anniversary of the Grenfell tower fire
As we approach the 8th anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire on Saturday 14 June 2025, NHS teams across Northwest London are coming together to honour the memory of those who lost their lives, and to stand with the survivors, bereaved families, and the wider North Kensington community.
This year’s anniversary is expected to feel especially poignant. It may be the last time the Tower remains before the removal of the remaining parts of building.
A time to reflect and support.
In the days leading up to the anniversary, the Tower site will be open to the bereaved, survivors, and local residents who wish to pay their respects and lay floral tributes – on Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th, and Saturday 14th June. The Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service (GHWS) team will be present at the site throughout, offering emotional support to anyone in need.
CLCH staff will be on hand on Saturday to support the GHWS team and help with community activities, including events on the Lancaster West Estate. Many staff also plan to take part in the Memory Walk later that evening – a touching tribute organised by the community.
Health and wellbeing support continues.
Judith Kato, Senior Case Manager, praised the dedication of the teams’ supporting patients affected by the tragedy "It is a big credit to the team that their unwavering focus has remained on patient care and strengthening ties within the community we serve and serve with. I could not ask for a better team to have faced these challenges with."
Cora Molloy, Head of Clinical Services, added “As we mark the 8th anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire, we want to recognise the steady commitment and care that our community staff working with our Grenfell population continue to provide. Supporting a community that has endured so much requires professionalism, empathy, and resilience."
Navneet Willoughby, Director of Operations, INW Division said “I recognise the magnitude of this anniversary and the impact of this tragedy will never be forgotten. I am incredibly proud of the compassionate and committed care provided by our teams."
