Parsons Green District Nursing team shortlisted for prestigious award
The District Nursing team based in Parsons Green has been shortlisted for the highly regarded Student Nursing Times Award in the category of Student Placement of the Year: Community. This recognition highlights the team’s dedication to providing an exceptional learning experience for student nurses on placement.
The Student Nursing Times Awards celebrate excellence in nursing education, training, and practice, recognising the individuals and teams that support and inspire the next generation of nurses. Being shortlisted in the Student Placement of the Year category highlights the team’s commitment to mentoring and developing future community nurses.
A recent student nurse who completed their community placement with the team shared their appreciation:
“I appreciated the multitude of experiences I encountered and the learning possibilities I had. I now possess a clearer comprehension of the role of a community nurse, and any preconceived ideas regarding community nursing no longer exist. I am still in contact with the team and occasionally pay them a visit. They are a remarkable team, and I will always remember my time with them.”
Olivia Ez-Osagie, Community Staff Nurse said:
""Having a supportive environment and nurses always helps students feel comfortable and the confidence to ask questions which assists with their learning and development. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with student nurses."
This shortlisting is a testament to the team’s dedication, professionalism, and passion for community nursing. We wish them the best of luck at the upcoming awards ceremony on Friday 2 May 2025.
