CLCH launches DAISY, Marigold and Tulip awards to celebrate staff excellence
As part of CLCH’s ongoing commitment to acknowledging the exceptional contributions of our staff, the Trust is proud to introduce a new staff recognition programme. This initiative is a direct response to feedback from the NHS Staff Survey, which has consistently highlighted ‘Recognition and Reward’ as a key area for enhancement.
The programme aims to honour the dedication and impact of all CLCH employees by providing meaningful appreciation and celebrating their achievements. Nominations can be made by colleagues, patients, and families, ensuring that outstanding efforts are recognised across all levels of the Trust.
In collaboration with the DAISY Foundation - an international organisation that celebrates extraordinary and compassionate nursing, CLCH will honour nurses who demonstrate exemplary care and commitment through this globally recognised award.
Recognising that all staff and volunteers play a vital role in supporting our communities, CLCH has commissioned two additional awards for staff:
The Tulip Award – dedicated to all clinical staff outside of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registered nurses.
The Marigold Award – celebrating non-clinical staff and volunteers.
Through these three awards, CLCH reinforces its commitment to valuing the dedication of its workforce and ensuring that contributions across different staff groups are formally acknowledged.
There will be three awards recognising contributions across different staff roles:

Nomination process
Nominations for awards will also be collected from patients, visitors, and service users via the Trust’s Patient Advice and Liaison service (PALS). Staff can submit their nomination through the nomination portal, or scan the QR code below.
All colleagues in the Trust, patients, families, service users, visitors, carers and members of the public can nominate a member of staff an award who have made a significant difference in their care or the care of a loved one.
Judging
The judging panel made up of colleagues representing CLCH will go through the nominations using a scoring criteria to collectively agree on the winners. There will be two winners selected for each award per quarter.

James Benson, Trust CEO, expressed his excitement for the initiative:
"I'm delighted to launch our new staff recognition programme - a heartfelt initiative that reflects our deep appreciation for the dedication, compassion, and excellence shown by our teams every day.
This programme complements our existing Staff Awards and Long Service Awards, while adding something truly special: nominations directly from patients and their families, bringing a personal and powerful voice to our celebration of staff.
Together, these awards reaffirm our commitment to recognising those who make a real difference across the Trust.
