Last week, Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) held its first virtual Staff Awards ceremony.Logo+2020.png

The Staff Awards ceremony is a key highlight in the Trust’s calendar. It usually takes place in November and allows our staff to come together physically to celebrate their amazing achievements throughout the year.

Although initial plans for this year’s celebration were quickly thwarted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, cancelling the event was not an option. This year has brought many unforeseen and unprecedented challenges for NHS staff across the country, and CLCH clinicians and corporate colleagues have been working incredibly hard to support the NHS response to coronavirus (COVID-19) and continue to deliver high-quality care in the community. Held on Thursday 5 November 2020, hundreds of staff tuned it at 18:00 to watch the broadcast from their homes. The virtual ceremony included a special video broadcast. The pre-recorded video included announcements of this year’s award winners, highly commended nominees, special messages from the senior management team and more.

During the ceremony, the Trust also unveiled a special ‘CLCH during COVID-19’ staff tribute video. The video features colleagues from across the Trust sharing their experiences of working during the first wave of the pandemic. Watch the ‘CLCH during COVID-19’ staff video on YouTube.

Andrew Ridley (Chief Executive) said: “The whole video is incredible - so well produced and put together. It was truly absorbing and engaging! Even though we were not together in person this year, it was really enjoyable to tune in together on the night to watch and hear the delight and warmth from our winners.

Every year, our inspirational workforce never ceases to amaze me. This year, they’ve gone above and beyond, and our virtual Staff Awards reflects that brilliantly. I felt so proud to be CEO watching it”.

Angela Greatley (Trust Chair) said: “Staff at CLCH have worked tremendously hard throughout this year and even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although COVID-19 restrictions prevented us from holding the event in the usual way, we could not miss this opportunity to thank them for their immense contributions. The video and the CLCH during COVID-19 stories were brilliant, moving and joyful!”.
