CLCH becomes first community NHS trust on the NHS App

Published: 29th May 2025

CLCH is the first community healthcare trust in England to enable patients to view their appointments on the NHS App and receive appointment reminder notifications direct to their mobile phones.  This will support patients to better manage their care and keep track of booked appointments, leading to fewer missed appointments and a more positive overall patient experience.

This first-of-its-kind integration between a community services provider and the NHS App marks a significant step forward in offering a more joined up experience of NHS services across primary, secondary and now community care for patients.

Patients who do not have the NHS App will continue to be notified about appointments by SMS, email and letters where appropriate and in accordance with their wishes.

Andrew Chronias, Chief Information Officer at CLCH, said: “As of yesterday (29 May 2025), CLCH patients can view their appointments in the NHS App and receive real-time reminders to their mobile phones. By cutting down on paper letters and improving communication, we’re delivering a better and more sustainable service for our patients.”
