Chief AHP Patsy Fung shortlisted for prestigious national award

Published: 11th September 2025

We’re thrilled to announce that Patsy Fung, Chief Allied Health Professional at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH), has been shortlisted for the AHP Workforce Transformation Award at the Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards 2025. This recognition celebrates her visionary leadership in launching the groundbreaking AHP Summer School Programme.

In summer 2024, CLCH proudly introduced the Allied Health Profession (AHP) Summer School Programme, designed to inspire and empower young people—especially those from under-represented backgrounds—to explore careers in:
•    Dietetics
•    Occupational Therapy
•    Orthoptics
•    Podiatry
•    Speech and Language Therapy
•    Physiotherapy
•    The Ambulance Service

Partnering with universities and professional bodies, CLCH welcomed applications from 16 to 18-year-olds attending state schools or colleges in our service areas. Out of nearly 200 applicants, 25 students were selected to take part in a two-week immersive experience, shadowing professionals and visiting academic institutions.

Chief AHP Patsy Fung said:
“We are delighted that the AHP Summer School has been shortlisted in the National Chief Allied Health Professions Officer Awards!
"We developed the programme as we felt this would be the perfect way to showcase our AHP careers to young people — NHS roles they may not ever have heard of before.”

The winners of the Chief AHP Officer Awards will be announced during NHSE Chief AHP Officer Suzanne Rastrick’s’ AHP Day Live Address on 14 October 2025. We wish Patsy the very best and celebrate the impact she’s already made.
