Celebrating Philippine Independence Day at CLCH
Today marks Philippine Independence Day - an occasion that celebrates the country’s freedom and cultural heritage.
This national holiday commemorates the Philippines' declaration of independence from Spanish colonial rule in 1898. It’s a day filled with pride, reflection, and celebration for Filipinos around the world.
At the Trust, we are proud to have a diverse workforce, with many of our dedicated clinical staff coming from the Philippines. Their contributions are invaluable to the care we provide every day across our communities.
To celebrate this special day, we’ve created a short video featuring several of our Filipino colleagues. In the video, they share interesting facts about their culture, country and why they are passionate about their roles at CLCH. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the people who help make our Trust such a welcoming and inclusive place to work.
Charlie Sheldon, Chief Nursing Officer and Director of People, said:
"Wishing all our Filipino staff Happy Philippines Independence Day. Each and every one of you has made a valuable contribution to life at CLCH and I would like to thank you all for this."
In Tagalog, which is one of the main languages in the Philippines, you can say "Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan". This translates to "Happy Independence Day".
