Celebrating Black History Month
October marks Black History Month 2025, and at CLCH we are proud to join the national celebrations. This year’s theme is about education, empowerment, and allyship – recognising the history, achievements, and contributions of Black people while also encouraging learning and action across our Trust.
Black History Month is important because it gives us all the chance to pause, reflect, and learn. It’s about celebrating heritage and culture, tackling inequality, and creating a more inclusive workplace. By shining a light on stories and experiences, we build better understanding, which helps us to support each other and provide the best care for our patients and communities.
As part of our celebrations, watch the video below featuring colleagues from across the Trust. In the video, Black staff share something unique about their heritage or the Black community that many people may not know. You’ll also hear from our Chief Nurse and Chief Operating Officer, who speak about why Black History Month matters in the workplace and how we can all get involved.
Every action, big or small, helps everyone celebrate diversity and strengthen equality.
