AHP Day 2025: Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, Rupal appointed as a Trustee of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance
As part of Allied Health Professions (AHP) Day celebrations on Tuesday 14 October, we are delighted to share exciting news of our Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, Rupal who has been appointed as a Trustee of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA). Rupal has been working for CLCH in the Musculoskeletal (MSK) service as Advance physiotherapy practitioner for 17 years in the North Central division.
ARMA is a national alliance that brings together patient organisations and professional bodies to influence health policy and improve care for people living with musculoskeletal conditions. ARMA exists to improve MSK services in the UK as a membership organisation which brings together over 35 research and healthcare professional organisations working in MSK health. As a member of its Board of Trustees, Rupal will help shape strategy and governance, ensuring the voices of patients and clinicians continue to influence national policy for better MSK health.
She brings a wealth of expertise to this role, with over 23 years of international experience in physiotherapy. Her career spans MSK assessment and rehabilitation across NHS secondary care, community settings, and the private sector. For the past 16 years, she has specialised as an Advanced Spinal Physiotherapy Practitioner, delivering expert care to people with musculoskeletal pain, rheumatological conditions, and complex chronic pain.
Equity and inclusion are central to Rupal’s practice. As Diversity Officer for the National Spinal Network and former Co-Chair of the Race Equality Network at Northwest London, she has led initiatives tackling health inequalities and promoting inclusive, person-centred care.
Looking ahead to her new role with ARMA, Rupal is passionate about ensuring MSK care is accessible, effective, and fair for everyone. She believes the future of MSK care lies at the intersection of clinical excellence, digital innovation, and inclusive leadership - a vision she is proud to advance nationally through ARMA’s work.
Commenting on her appointment as a Trustee, Christopher Martey, Chair of the Board of Trustees, ARMA said: “I am delighted to welcome Rupal as a newly elected member of the Board of Trustees for the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA). Rupal brings a wealth of skills and experience to the Board and shares the vision and the commitment to improving the lives of those affected by arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions across the UK. Rupal will be invaluable in helping to shape the strategic direction of the charity and in supporting the organisation to achieve its long-term goals.”
Rupal has commenced her role as a member of the Board of Trustees for ARMA in July 2025.
Ahead of AHP Day, we celebrate not only the vital contribution of allied health professionals but also the impact of leaders like Rupal, whose dedication and vision help shape a fairer and healthier future for all.
Her message to all Allied Health Professions this AHP Day is: “Focus on your action and effort and be the change you like to see by embracing it with passion, persistence and perseverance."
