Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information regarding Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infections and other infectious diseases within your NHS Trust:
- The total number of reported C. diff infections within your Trust for each of the past five calendar years (2020–2024)

CLCH undertakes the national mandatory surveillance for reportable HCAI’s. Under this scheme, cases of C. difficile, MRSA and MSSA bacteraemia and Gram negative bacteraemia (including Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp. and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa are reported to national data capture system and reviewed to identify learning. The top reported infection between 2020 and 2024 was Clostridium difficile. There were zero cases of other reportable infections.
