The number of employees who took shared parental leave (SPL) in each of the last five financial years: 2020/21; 2021/22; 2022/23; 2023/24; and 2024/25.In the same period, the number of employees who took:• Maternity leave• Paternity leaveAny internal policy documents or guidance issued to staff regarding shared parental leave entitlement, including any updates in the past five years.

Enhanced pay is offered during shared parental leave, please see breakdown of each pay:

 

Shared Parental Leave Pay:

 

• The mother must take a minimum of 2 weeks maternity leave following the birth of the baby or 2 weeks adoption leave

• You can take the rest of the 52 weeks of leave (up to a maximum of 50 weeks) as shared parental leave (SPL)

• Take the rest of the 39 weeks of pay (up to a maximum of 37 weeks) as statutory shared parental pay (ShPP)

• ShPP is paid at the same rate as Statutory Maternity / Adoption Pay  - £187.18 per week , or 90% of your average weekly earnings whichever is lower

 

Maternity pay NHS Occupational Maternity Pay:

 

•for the first 8 weeks, full pay, less any Statutory Maternity Pay or Maternity Allowance (including any dependants’ allowances) receivable.

• for the next 18 weeks, half of their full pay plus any Statutory Maternity Pay or Maternity Allowance (including any dependents’ allowances) receivable, providing the total receivable does not exceed full pay.

• for the next 13 weeks, Statutory Maternity Pay or Maternity Allowance they are entitled to under the Statutory scheme.

 • remaining 13 weeks: unpaid leave

 

Statutory Maternity Pay:

 

• first 6 weeks: 90% of normal salary

• next 33 weeks: SMP rate (or 90% of average weekly earnings, whichever is lower)

• remaining 13 weeks – unpaid leave

 

Maternity Support (Paternity) Leave and Pay:

 

•£187.18 per week , or 90% of your average weekly earning which ever is lower (for up to 2 weeks of leave)
