Do you have any schemes or pathways that have successfully reduced the requirement for continence products, or reduced the cost of continence product provision? Or delivery charges? Could you detail these?

Inner North West Division

-Pads are sourced through NHS Supply chain.

- Orders for high absorbency pads or more than 4/day must be authorised by the Continence Nurse Specialist . This allows for discussion regarding need

-All deliveries are on call back

-Care homes receive a delivery every 8 weeks

-Own home - less than 3 pads/day =16 weekly . 3+pads/day - 12 weekly

Outer North West (Brent)- No schemes

South West Division (Merton) No schemes

South West Division (Wandsworth) - No specifically focused schemes, however, high-cost product provision is overseen by specialist team to ensure appropriate provision. Delivery charges are set by NHS Supply Chain / Home Delivery Service.

North Central Division - We offer training to care homes & Inpatient units to ensure products are used appropriately and that assessment for products are holistic & individual to ensure patients get the correct product & quantity needed. B&B have just produced an educational resource pack, which will be given to all care & nursing homes so they have information & support on how to assess & manage the incontinent patient. We do annual product reviews on all patients on B&B caseload who are receiving containment products to ensure they are still required and if any change is needed to their prescriptions. We are currently doing a data cleanse of people who are on HDS to ensure they are still actively reordering products, and discharging those who have moved out of area, changed Gp to a non-Barnet Gp or if they are deceased.

Hertfordshire Division- Purchasing through NHS supply chain and ICS buying capacity. Reducing delivery charges by changing to a longer period in the ordering cycle. When we move to NHS supplies can look at other products/ Providers
