Celebrating Parkinson’s Awareness Month at CLCH

Published: 30th April 2026

CLCH marked Parkinson’s Awareness Month with a dedicated day of activity on 16 April, bringing together patients, carers and staff for a series of events focused on learning, collaboration and improving patient care.

The first event took place at Edgware Community Hospital and fetaured interactive demonstrations, opportunities to meet the Parkinson’s team, ask questions, and explore a range of informative stalls showcasing available services, support, and resources. Guest also had the opportunity to take part in, or observe, live physiotherapy and speech and language therapy sessions.

In the afternoon, 36 clinicians joined a virtual specialist Q&A session focused on multidisciplinary team (MDT) management and strategies to enhance patient outcomes. The session explored MDT approaches to Parkinson’s management, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and improving patient outcomes.

Anjali Bajracharya, Parkinson’s Service Clinical Lead, said: “As a specialist lead for the North Central service and Parkinson’s Specialist Nurse, we see Parkinson’s Awareness Month as a vital time to honour the resilience of our patients and the families who support them. Our role is to look beyond the diagnosis, providing expert, person-centred care and advocacy necessary to preserve independence and dignity. By raising awareness, we ensure that no one has to navigate the complexities of this condition alone, reaffirming our commitment to a future where every individual feels truly seen and supported throughout their journey.”
