Under the Freedom of Information Act, I am requesting information regarding supported living and residential care services for adults with a primary support need of learning disabilities (LD).

Long term care is provided to clients on an ongoing basis and has been allocated on the basis of eligibility criteria / policies (i.e. an assessment of need has taken place) and are subject to regular review. Supported living may also be called Supported accommodation or Supported housing and is a housing scheme where housing, support and care services are provided to help people with disabilities live as independently as possible in the community.

Total placements is the total number of active funded placements in that period, included those carried over from previous years.

New placements are those newly commissioned in that period only, ie not carried over from a previous year.

Our response below:

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH) does not provide residential Care homes / Supported accommodation or Supported housing solely based on people with learning disabilities.  CLCH specialises in providing care in the community to all who are eligible.

Therefore CLCH would not record data in this way.  We would suggest you re-word/re-phrase your FOI and then re-submit.  You may ask something like:

• Does your trust provide support to those with learning disabilities?
• What was your spend relating to those with Learning disabilities?
• What type of support do you provide to those with Learning Disabilities?
