I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding clinical standards and hygiene protocols for District Nursing teams operating within the Kensington and Chelsea area of the Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) NHS Trust.

 

Specifically, I require copies of the following documents and data:

 

1.       Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Policy: The most recent version of the policy applicable to community/district nursing, including specific protocols for hand hygiene, "Bare Below the Elbows," and wound care. –

2.       Uniform and Dress Code Policy: The current policy for clinical staff, including regulations on the wearing of uniforms in transit and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in domestic settings.-

3.       Equipment Management: Policy documents or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding the hygiene, transport, and storage of clinical equipment (e.g., nursing bags, dressing kits) between patient homes. –

4.       Audit Data: The date and summary results of the last clinical hygiene or IPC audit conducted for the District Nursing teams in Kensington and Chelsea.  Clinical practice review visits were completed in sample of Kensington and Chelsea DN services in sS –

Six clinical practice reviews have been completed with district nursing teams in Kensington and Chelsea between September 2025 and January 2026.  Reports are confidential and will not be shared at this point.

 

5.  Staff Training: Confirmation of the mandatory training frequency for district nurses regarding infection control and hygiene.-

Currently Infection Prevention  and Control mandatory training for District Nurses is yearly.
